For two weeks, a church in England shuts its doors to the public, silenced its bells and organ, all for a pair of blue tits that were discovered nesting in the vicar’s lectern, the Daily Mail reported.

The maintenance man at St Thomas à Becket church in the village of Sourton discovered the birds. He discovered eight adorable hatched chicks inside.

That is when all activity at the church stopped so the birds could have their time taking care of the little ones before they were ready to fly off.

“Services were conducted by the Rev Adrian Brooks without the organ being played as it was too close to the lectern and they didn’t want to disturb the bird,” local wildlife photographer Colin Sargent, told the Daily Mail.

Adding, “The birds have now all left safely and it is a story with a happy ending as it was a big worry about how they would be able to get out the church.”
