Japan-based electronics manufacturer, Panoworks announces its unique projector that allows users to experience virtual reality content without having to mount a headset.
Panoworks makes use of panoramic curved screen and HD laser projector in order to showcase virtual reality content on the screen. As a result, a 150-degree field of view of the content is generated.
Users won’t be able to turn their heads and experience a virtual reality environment. Instead, the imagery will be manipulated through the use of a trackball, touchscreen or a rotator device. Leap Motion or Microsoft Kinect will reportedly provide support for the hand gesture controls.
The video output is 4k resolution high and the 5.1 stereo surround sounds will surely enhance the experience. It is also being designed to function with TVs and monitors.
While the price for Panoworks’ unique projector has not been announced yet, it will only be available in Japan initially.
