Mumbai: Kapil Sharma had recently made news for tweeting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about an official demanding bribe from him for a construction at his office. However, following that, he has now landed in trouble as an FIR has been registered against him for unauthorized constructions at his ninth floor flat in the Goregaon high rise DLH Enclave, as reported by Times of India. The FIR also mentions Irrfan Khan, who also resides in the same building on the fifth floor. Besides the two actors, it also mentions three other flat owners and the builder, Dev Land & Housing.
The case has been registered by a P South ward sub engineer Abhay Jagtap under section 53 (7) of the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act (MRTP),1966, which relates to prosecuting flat owners for not complying to notices against unauthorized constructions and could lead to a imprisonment of a period from one month to three years or a fine of Rs. 2000 to Rs. 5000.
A police complaint was also filed in June against the building for unauthorized constructions and the BMC has reportedly found violations in 15 other flats in the building.
