Nail artist Ayanna Williams has been crowned with title of the world’s longest fingernails by Guinness World Records.
“I am elated and honoured. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d make it into the Guinness World Records books!” Williams is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
Williams, a nail artist from Texas US), has spent 23 years growing her nails which takes a week to paint.
The most challenging task about having unusually long fingernails is pulling up her trousers. “It takes me longer to do anything than it would take other people, because of the length of my nails,” she told Guinness World Records.
Williams nail care routine is applying anti-bacterial soap and using a nail brush to clean them everyday.
Why did she apply for the record? “To let my children know that anything they want to accomplish can be done. It takes courage, discipline and patience but it can be accomplished,” Ayanna is quoted as saying in the report.
