Microsoft introduced its Surface Pen along with the new Surface Pro tablet, meant to make users feel like they are writing on paper. According the company, their Surface Pen is apparently the “fastest pen ever” on any given platform, with a whooping 4,096 pressure points. The pen comes along with a reduced parallax and a new tilt feature, much like Apple Pencil. The latter allows users to shade whenever possible.
The latest Microsoft Surface Pen is now available for pre-order at a starting price of $99 in platinum colour. According to several reports, black, cobalt blue and burgundy colours will also be added in the future.
As noted by Engadget, the new pen is approximately $40 more expensive than the previous version — which puts it in line with Apple Pencil. The price is high primarily due to the added high-end features made available by the company.
