Mumbai: Legendary former Indian all-rounder Kapil Dev expressed his joy over the performance of the country’s fast bowlers in recent times. “There was a time when we did not have a clinical pacer. Fast bowlers are the backbone of the team and I’m glad that our team is doing well in terms of pace recently,” said the former India captain who spearheaded Indian fast bowling attack in the 1980’s and 90’s.
“I have always believed that the younger the better. It is delightful that youngsters are showcasing their talent on the big stage and wish them greater success,” he added in praise of the Virat Kohli led side that is doing well across all formats.
Speaking on Hardik Pandya’s addition to the Test format, Kapil said, “He (Hardik) is a good skillful player, he has the talent to go places and he is showing it. Ashwin and and Jadeja have also added great depth to the batting performing well in the lower order. It feels good to have multiple all-rounders,” he said here on Thursday.
