Porn website will now protect your identity, hide your kinky fantasies
According to a recent Google Transparency Report, Pornhub and YouPorn are two of the 100 most visited websites in the world.

Most ISPs are able to find out what you are doing online, and are able to collect and sell your browsing history to advertisers. With this information, it becomes pretty difficult to keep your online activities private and if you are a frequent porn surfer, you could start seeing advertisements relates to explicit stuff in on regular, non-adult pages. To keep your online kinky fantasies from being distributed among advertisers, porn websites are now spending some more moolah on encrypting them.

Switching from the regular HTTP (non-encrypted) website to a more secure and private HTTPS is the direction that most websites are taking today. Porn websites were not much in favour of this, and now Pornhub, the most popular adult entertainment website on the internet, has announced that they are adopting the HTTPS encryption to keep their users’ browsing habits hidden within its network.

“Today, Pornhub, the premier online destination for adult entertainment announced that it is officially switching to Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) as part of an ongoing effort to continue to ensure the confidentiality and privacy of their users while also offering enhanced security against hackers and malware. YouPorn, the world’s #1 destination for unlimited free HD porn, will also be making the switch on Tuesday, April 4. In light of Congress’ repeal of Internet privacy rules that just passed allowing ISPs to sell browsing history, this change is now more important than ever,” said Pornhub in its latest press release this week.

According to a recent Google Transparency Report, Pornhub and YouPorn are two of the 100 most visited websites in the world. Of those top 100 websites, only three out of 11 adult websites listed are HTTPS, sister site RedTube included, with Pornhub and YouPorn now joining the ranks.

Pornhub presently has more than 70 million daily visitors and the website runners have now put in their efforts to maximise the privacy of their users and keep their activities confidential on their own website. “With the switch to HTTPS we are able to protect their identity as well as safeguard them against exposure to malware by third parties,” said Corey Price, Vice President, Pornhub. “At the end of the day, we want every single one of them to feel safe and secure on our platform while enjoying our library of over 5 million videos,” said Price.

HTTPS offers three key layers of protection – encryption to keep data secure from third parties, integrity to ensure data cannot be corrupted and authenticity to prove that users are communicating with the correct website. By switching to HTTPS, users can trust that they will have a secure and private online experience, with pages that load at a faster rate and also provide more personalised content.

The move is essential as many dating and porn websites have a user database gold mine that can be obtained with server breaches. The switch to HTTPS is one of many proactive measures that both Pornhub and YouPorn have taken to ensure customer privacy and online security.
