The perception of beauty set by societal standards have resulted into rampant body shaming of people on various platform, and women after pregnancies experience this more often.
One of the worst instances of society dictating body image have involved women wearing bikini, as the post pregnancy body isn’t accepted as the “perfect bikini body”.
For a mother, the well being of her child and the happiness of motherhood means more than anything else, and living up to society’s expectations would be the last thing she would care about.
Lexi Sinclair, from Kansas City, US was also shamed for her body when she took her four month old son to the pool, when a woman in her 50s came up to her and told her that wearing a bikini is not appropriate for a mother who is “still recovering”.
But instead of being embarrassed about her body, Lexi had a perfect reply for the woman, as she told the woman how proud she was of her body and that it showed she had done something amazing.
She narrated the entire incident in a Facebook post, as she mentioned how her body was important since it had provided for her child.
