Visakhapatnam: A junior college student, on Wednesday drowned in the sea off the Jodugullapalem beach here while taking a selfie, police said.
Another student is feared drowned. Five students from Madhurawada area here had gone to the beach as their exams concluded recently, a senior police official from Arilova police station.
Four of them K Amrutha (17), DM Kalyan (18), Anil and Rajesh were clicking selfies while standing on a rock this morning. A big wave lashed the rock and swept Amrutha and Kalyan into the sea, he added.
Amrutha’s body was found while a search operation is underway to locate Kalyan, the official said, adding a case has been registered.
