How to install elpa-vala-mode on Debian Unstable (Sid)

Install elpa-vala-mode

Installing elpa-vala-mode package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install elpa-vala-mode

Uninstall elpa-vala-mode

To remove just elpa-vala-mode package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove elpa-vala-mode

Uninstall elpa-vala-mode and it’s dependent packages

To remove the elpa-vala-mode package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove elpa-vala-mode

Purging elpa-vala-mode

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of elpa-vala-mode from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge elpa-vala-mode

To delete configuration and/or data files of elpa-vala-mode and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove elpa-vala-mode
