How to install firmware-bnx2x on Debian Unstable (Sid)

Install firmware-bnx2x

Installing firmware-bnx2x package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install firmware-bnx2x

Uninstall firmware-bnx2x

To remove just firmware-bnx2x package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove firmware-bnx2x

Uninstall firmware-bnx2x and it’s dependent packages

To remove the firmware-bnx2x package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove firmware-bnx2x

Purging firmware-bnx2x

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of firmware-bnx2x from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge firmware-bnx2x

To delete configuration and/or data files of firmware-bnx2x and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove firmware-bnx2x
