How to install firmware-intel-sound on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install firmware-intel-sound

Installing firmware-intel-sound package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install firmware-intel-sound

Uninstall firmware-intel-sound

To remove just firmware-intel-sound package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove firmware-intel-sound

Uninstall firmware-intel-sound and it’s dependent packages

To remove the firmware-intel-sound package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove firmware-intel-sound

Purging firmware-intel-sound

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of firmware-intel-sound from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge firmware-intel-sound

To delete configuration and/or data files of firmware-intel-sound and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove firmware-intel-sound
