How to install libruby on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install libruby

Installing libruby package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libruby

libruby package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name libruby
version 1:2.3.0+4
description Libraries necessary to run Ruby
subsection libs
website ruby-lang.org
maintainer Antonio Terceiro

Uninstall libruby

To remove just libruby package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove libruby

Uninstall libruby and it’s dependent packages

To remove the libruby package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libruby

Purging libruby

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of libruby from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge libruby

To delete configuration and/or data files of libruby and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libruby
