How to install musl on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install musl

Installing musl package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install musl

musl package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name musl
version 1.1.9-1.1
description standard C library
subsection libs
website musl-libc.org
maintainer Kevin Bortis

Uninstall musl

To remove just musl package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove musl

Uninstall musl and it’s dependent packages

To remove the musl package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove musl

Purging musl

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of musl from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge musl

To delete configuration and/or data files of musl and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove musl
