How to install mysql-client on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install mysql-client

Installing mysql-client package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install mysql-client

mysql-client package information

description MySQL database client (metapackage depending on the latest version)

Uninstall mysql-client

To remove just mysql-client package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove mysql-client

Uninstall mysql-client and it’s dependent packages

To remove the mysql-client package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mysql-client

Purging mysql-client

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of mysql-client from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge mysql-client

To delete configuration and/or data files of mysql-client and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mysql-client
