How to install nova-compute on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install nova-compute

Installing nova-compute package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nova-compute

nova-compute package information

description OpenStack Compute – compute node

Uninstall nova-compute

To remove just nova-compute package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove nova-compute

Uninstall nova-compute and it’s dependent packages

To remove the nova-compute package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove nova-compute

Purging nova-compute

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of nova-compute from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge nova-compute

To delete configuration and/or data files of nova-compute and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove nova-compute
