How to install ohai on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install ohai

Installing ohai package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ohai

ohai package information

name ohai
version 8.4.0-1
description Detects data about your operating system and reports it in JSON

Uninstall ohai

To remove just ohai package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove ohai

Uninstall ohai and it’s dependent packages

To remove the ohai package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ohai

Purging ohai

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of ohai from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge ohai

To delete configuration and/or data files of ohai and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ohai
