How to install open-vm-tools-desktop on Debian Unstable (Sid)

Install open-vm-tools-desktop

Installing open-vm-tools-desktop package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install open-vm-tools-desktop

Uninstall open-vm-tools-desktop

To remove just open-vm-tools-desktop package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove open-vm-tools-desktop

Uninstall open-vm-tools-desktop and it’s dependent packages

To remove the open-vm-tools-desktop package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove open-vm-tools-desktop

Purging open-vm-tools-desktop

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of open-vm-tools-desktop from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge open-vm-tools-desktop

To delete configuration and/or data files of open-vm-tools-desktop and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:
