How to install openocd on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install openocd

Installing openocd package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install openocd

openocd package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name openocd
version 0.9.0-1+b1
description Open on-chip JTAG debug solution for ARM and MIPS systems
subsection embedded

Uninstall openocd

To remove just openocd package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove openocd

Uninstall openocd and it’s dependent packages

To remove the openocd package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove openocd

Purging openocd

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of openocd from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge openocd

To delete configuration and/or data files of openocd and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove openocd
