How to install osm2pgsql on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install osm2pgsql

Installing osm2pgsql package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install osm2pgsql

Uninstall osm2pgsql

To remove just osm2pgsql package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove osm2pgsql

Uninstall osm2pgsql and it’s dependent packages

To remove the osm2pgsql package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove osm2pgsql

Purging osm2pgsql

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of osm2pgsql from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge osm2pgsql

To delete configuration and/or data files of osm2pgsql and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove osm2pgsql
