How to install parted on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install parted

Installing parted package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install parted

parted package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name parted
version 3.2-15
description disk partition manipulator
subsection admin
website gnu.org / software / parted
maintainer Parted Maintainer Team

Uninstall parted

To remove just parted package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove parted

Uninstall parted and it’s dependent packages

To remove the parted package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove parted

Purging parted

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of parted from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge parted

To delete configuration and/or data files of parted and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove parted
