How to install php-cli on Debian Unstable (Sid)

Install php-cli

Installing php-cli package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install php-cli

name php-cli

description command-line interpreter for the PHP scripting language (default)

Uninstall php-cli

To remove just php-cli package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove php-cli

Uninstall php-cli and it’s dependent packages

To remove the php-cli package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove php-cli

Purging php-cli

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of php-cli from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge php-cli

To delete configuration and/or data files of php-cli and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove php-cli
