How to install pixz on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install pixz

Installing pixz package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install pixz

pixz package information

name pixz
version 1.0.6-2
description parallel, indexing XZ compressor/decompressor
subsection utils

Uninstall pixz

To remove just pixz package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove pixz

Uninstall pixz and it’s dependent packages

To remove the pixz package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove pixz

Purging pixz

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of pixz from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge pixz

To delete configuration and/or data files of pixz and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove pixz
