How to install pmount on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install pmount

Installing pmount package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install pmount

pmount package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name pmount
version 0.9.23-3+b1
description mount removable devices as normal user
subsection utils
maintainer Vincent Fourmond

Uninstall pmount

To remove just pmount package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove pmount

Uninstall pmount and it’s dependent packages

To remove the pmount package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove pmount

Purging pmount

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of pmount from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge pmount

To delete configuration and/or data files of pmount and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove pmount
