How to install ptpd on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install ptpd

Installing ptpd package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ptpd

ptpd package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)

name ptpd
version 2.3.1-debian1-1
description Precision Time Protocol daemon

Uninstall ptpd

To remove just ptpd package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove ptpd

Uninstall ptpd and it’s dependent packages

To remove the ptpd package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ptpd

Purging ptpd

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of ptpd from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge ptpd

To delete configuration and/or data files of ptpd and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ptpd
