How to install pxelinux on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install pxelinux

Installing pxelinux package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install pxelinux

pxelinux package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)

name pxelinux
version 3:6.03+dfsg-11
description collection of bootloaders (PXE network bootloader)

Uninstall pxelinux

To remove just pxelinux package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove pxelinux

Uninstall pxelinux and it’s dependent packages

To remove the pxelinux package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove pxelinux

Purging pxelinux

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of pxelinux from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge pxelinux

To delete configuration and/or data files of pxelinux and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove pxelinux
