How to install resolvconf on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install resolvconf

Installing resolvconf package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install resolvconf

resolvconf package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name resolvconf
version 1.78
description name server information handler
subsection net
website alioth.debian.org / projects / resolvconf / 
maintainer resolvconf maintainers

Uninstall resolvconf

To remove just resolvconf package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove resolvconf

Uninstall resolvconf and it’s dependent packages

To remove the resolvconf package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove resolvconf

Purging resolvconf

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of resolvconf from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge resolvconf

To delete configuration and/or data files of resolvconf and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove resolvconf
