How to install s3cmd on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install s3cmd

Installing s3cmd package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install s3cmd

Uninstall s3cmd

To remove just s3cmd package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove s3cmd

Uninstall s3cmd and it’s dependent packages

To remove the s3cmd package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove s3cmd

Purging s3cmd

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of s3cmd from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge s3cmd

To delete configuration and/or data files of s3cmd and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove s3cmd
