How to install samba-common-bin on Debian Unstable (Sid)

Install samba-common-bin

Installing samba-common-bin package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install samba-common-bin

Uninstall samba-common-bin

To remove just samba-common-bin package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove samba-common-bin

Uninstall samba-common-bin and it’s dependent packages

To remove the samba-common-bin package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove samba-common-bin

Purging samba-common-bin

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of samba-common-bin from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge samba-common-bin

To delete configuration and/or data files of samba-common-bin and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove samba-common-bin
