How to install sbcl on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install sbcl

Installing sbcl package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install sbcl

sbcl package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name sbcl
version 2:1.3.3-1
description Common Lisp compiler and development system
subsection lisp

maintainer Debian Common Lisp Team

Uninstall sbcl

To remove just sbcl package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove sbcl

Uninstall sbcl and it’s dependent packages

To remove the sbcl package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove sbcl

Purging sbcl

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of sbcl from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge sbcl

To delete configuration and/or data files of sbcl and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove sbcl
