How to install sgml-base on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install sgml-base

Installing sgml-base package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install sgml-base

sgml-base package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name sgml-base
version 1.26+nmu4
description SGML infrastructure and SGML catalog file support
subsection text
maintainer Debian XML/SGML Group

Uninstall sgml-base

To remove just sgml-base package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove sgml-base

Uninstall sgml-base and it’s dependent packages

To remove the sgml-base package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove sgml-base

Purging sgml-base

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of sgml-base from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge sgml-base

To delete configuration and/or data files of sgml-base and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove sgml-base
