How to install slapd on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install slapd

Installing slapd package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install slapd

slapd package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name slapd
version 2.4.42+dfsg-2+b2
description OpenLDAP server (slapd)
subsection net
website openldap.org
maintainer Debian OpenLDAP Maintainers

Uninstall slapd

To remove just slapd package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove slapd

Uninstall slapd and it’s dependent packages

To remove the slapd package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove slapd

Purging slapd

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of slapd from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge slapd

To delete configuration and/or data files of slapd and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove slapd
