How to install slime on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install slime

Installing slime package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install slime

slime package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name slime
version 2:2.15-1
description Superior LISP Interaction Mode for Emacs
subsection lisp
website common-lisp.net / project / slime /

Uninstall slime

To remove just slime package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove slime

Uninstall slime and it’s dependent packages

To remove the slime package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove slime

Purging slime

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of slime from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge slime

To delete configuration and/or data files of slime and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove slime
