How to install slpd on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install slpd

Installing slpd package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install slpd

slpd package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name slpd
version 1.2.1-11
description OpenSLP server (slpd)
subsection net
website openslp.org
maintainer Debian QA Group

Uninstall slpd

To remove just slpd package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove slpd

Uninstall slpd and it’s dependent packages

To remove the slpd package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove slpd

Purging slpd

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of slpd from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge slpd

To delete configuration and/or data files of slpd and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove slpd
