How to install slrn on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install slrn

Installing slrn package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install slrn

slrn package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name slrn
version 1.0.2-4+b1
description threaded text-mode news reader
subsection news
website slrn.sourceforge.net
maintainer Moritz Muehlenhoff

Uninstall slrn

To remove just slrn package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove slrn

Uninstall slrn and it’s dependent packages

To remove the slrn package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove slrn

Purging slrn

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of slrn from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge slrn

To delete configuration and/or data files of slrn and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove slrn
