How to install swift on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install swift

Installing swift package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install swift

swift package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name swift
version 2.7.0-2
description distributed virtual object store – common files
subsection net
website github.com / openstack / swift
maintainer PKG OpenStack

Uninstall swift

To remove just swift package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove swift

Uninstall swift and it’s dependent packages

To remove the swift package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove swift

Purging swift

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of swift from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge swift

To delete configuration and/or data files of swift and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove swift
