How to install tango-icon-theme on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install tango-icon-theme

Installing tango-icon-theme package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install tango-icon-theme

Uninstall tango-icon-theme

To remove just tango-icon-theme package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove tango-icon-theme

Uninstall tango-icon-theme and it’s dependent packages

To remove the tango-icon-theme package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tango-icon-theme

Purging tango-icon-theme

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of tango-icon-theme from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge tango-icon-theme

To delete configuration and/or data files of tango-icon-theme and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tango-icon-theme
