How to install tomcat8-common on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install tomcat8-common

Installing tomcat8-common package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install tomcat8-common

Uninstall tomcat8-common

To remove just tomcat8-common package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove tomcat8-common

Uninstall tomcat8-common and it’s dependent packages

To remove the tomcat8-common package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tomcat8-common

Purging tomcat8-common

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of tomcat8-common from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge tomcat8-common

To delete configuration and/or data files of tomcat8-common and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tomcat8-common
