How to install uidmap on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install uidmap

Installing uidmap package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install uidmap

uidmap package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name uidmap
version 1:4.2-3.1
description programs to help use subuids
subsection admin
website pkg-shadow.alioth.debian.org
maintainer Shadow package maintainers

Uninstall uidmap

To remove just uidmap package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove uidmap

Uninstall uidmap and it’s dependent packages

To remove the uidmap package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove uidmap

Purging uidmap

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of uidmap from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge uidmap

To delete configuration and/or data files of uidmap and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove uidmap
