How to install unicode-data on Debian Unstable (Sid)

Install unicode-data

Installing unicode-data package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install unicode-data

unicode-data package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name unicode-data
version 8.0-3
description Property data for the Unicode character set
subsection misc
maintainer Alastair McKinstry

Uninstall unicode-data

To remove just unicode-data package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove unicode-data

Uninstall unicode-data and it’s dependent packages

To remove the unicode-data package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove unicode-data

Purging unicode-data

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of unicode-data from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge unicode-data

To delete configuration and/or data files of unicode-data and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove unicode-data
