How to install unzip on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install unzip

Installing unzip package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install unzip

unzip package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name unzip
version 6.0-20
description De-archiver for .zip files
subsection utils
website info-zip.org / UnZip.html
maintainer Santiago Vila

Uninstall unzip

To remove just unzip package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove unzip

Uninstall unzip and it’s dependent packages

To remove the unzip package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove unzip

Purging unzip

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of unzip from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge unzip

To delete configuration and/or data files of unzip and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove unzip
