How to install user-setup on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install user-setup

Installing user-setup package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install user-setup

user-setup package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name user-setup
version 1.64
description Set up initial user and password
subsection admin
maintainer Debian Install System Team

Uninstall user-setup

To remove just user-setup package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove user-setup

Uninstall user-setup and it’s dependent packages

To remove the user-setup package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove user-setup

Purging user-setup

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of user-setup from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge user-setup

To delete configuration and/or data files of user-setup and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove user-setup
