How to install w3cam on Debian Unstable (Sid)

Install w3cam

Installing w3cam package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install w3cam

Uninstall w3cam

To remove just w3cam package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove w3cam

Uninstall w3cam and it’s dependent packages

To remove the w3cam package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove w3cam

Purging w3cam

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of w3cam from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge w3cam

To delete configuration and/or data files of w3cam and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove w3cam
