How to install xplanet on Debian Unstable (Sid)


Install xplanet

Installing xplanet package on Debian Unstable (Sid) is as easy as running the following command on terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xplanet

xplanet package information

distro Debian Unstable (Sid)
section Main
name xplanet
version 1.3.0-3+b1
description planetary body renderer
subsection graphics
website xplanet.sourceforge.net
maintainer Steve McIntyre

Uninstall xplanet

To remove just xplanet package itself from Debian Unstable (Sid) execute on terminal:

sudo apt-get remove xplanet

Uninstall xplanet and it’s dependent packages

To remove the xplanet package and any other dependant package which are no longer needed from Debian Sid.

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove xplanet

Purging xplanet

If you also want to delete configuration and/or data files of xplanet from Debian Sid then this will work:

sudo apt-get purge xplanet

To delete configuration and/or data files of xplanet and it’s dependencies from Debian Sid then execute:

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove xplanet
